A report from The Fort Wayne Journal Gazette claimed that Federal prosecutors say they are working with police in several countries to investigate suspects in a child pornography “social networking site” that at one point had more than 1,000 members trading illegal images. It was reported that prosecutors said Wednesday that over 50 people had been arrested and 35 have been convicted of various child pornography-related charges as part of the two-year investigation, including several people from abroad.

They said they were seeking the extradition of the group’s alleged ringleader who is serving a 14-year prison term in England for sexually assaulting or trying to abuse three underage girls.

 

INDIANAPOLIS (April 5, 2010) – Governor Mitch Daniels today announced the appointment of C. William Myers as judge of the Lawrenceburg City Court. He succeeds Judge Thomas Bauer who resigned February 28.

Myers, of Lawrenceburg, attended Vincennes University and the Ohio College of Applied Science. He joined the Indiana National Guard in 1968 and served until 1974. Myers graduated from the Indiana Law Enforcement Academy after joining the Lawrenceburg Police Department in 1973. Upon retiring from the Police Department in 1993, he worked as a sales consultant for E-One fire and emergency vehicles at Haag Ford Sales in Lawrenceburg and later at Vehicle Systems, Inc. Since 2008, he has represented Pierce Fire Apparatus as a sales consultant for the southeast Indiana region.

Myers is a member of the Indiana Volunteer Fireman’s Association.

His appointment is effective immediately.
